Big Data Belfast 2022

Big Data Belfast 2022

On Wednesday 25th May, we were proud to welcome over 700 delegates, 40 speakers and panellists, 20 exhibitors, and 10 sponsors for this year’s Big Data Belfast. Following on from the success of our 2019 conference, Big Data Belfast 2022 was our biggest to date!

Welcoming speakers, panellists, and thought leaders from leading international and local organisations including ASOS, McLaren Racing, Netflix, Disney Plus, The International Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Northern Ireland, the event provided delegates with insights into the positive impact of data.

The event began with an introduction from Analytics Engines Managing Director, Aislinn Rice. During her introductory speech, Aislinn commented on the growth of the conference, stating “What began a small networking event of fewer than 100 delegates a decade ago has grown exponentially to what you see here today”.

Next to the stage was Tech Nation Chair, Stephen Kelly, who commented on the growth, strength, and resilience of the NI technology sector, citing some very impressive stats including Northern Ireland’s position at the number one spot for UK software engineering jobs.

Throughout the day, speakers presented uses cases, participated in panel sessions and fireside chats and made an earnest case in favour of the positive impact of data.

One recurring theme present throughout the conference was the importance of people.

During their opening keynote, Shay Cullen, and Gareth Kelly from EY discussed the importance of people in data-driven organisations, and the ability of data to enhance the human in the loop; a sentiment echoed during other sessions throughout the day.

With support from headline sponsor EY, and supporting sponsors Aflac Northern Ireland, Allstate Northern Ireland, ASOS, Dell Technologies, Magnite, MCS Group, APEX Fintech Solutions, Daily Pay and Queen’s University Belfast, the event has established itself as a high point of the NI tech calendar.

We’re already looking forward to 2023!
