Analytics Engines named one of the UK’s ‘most innovative AI companies to watch in 2020’

On Thursday 2nd July, Analytics Engines was recognised by Tech Nation as one of their “16 Innovative AI Companies to Watch in 2020”.
Tech Nation is an industry support body who work closely with innovators, leaders and scaling companies to support growth across the entire UK tech ecosystem. Tech Nation provides organisations with the coaching, community and connections they need for their journey in designing the future.
In their 2020 report, Tech Nation identified the UK as a leading global hub of AI-driven tech, stating “the future of innovation lies in the use of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Cybersecurity, Blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR). AI dominates emerging technologies as investment continues to go up and to the right”. In 2019, AI companies within the UK received approximately £19 billion in investment funding, a significant increase from £3 billion in 2015.
Analytics Engines Chief Technical Officer, Alastair McKinley said: “I’m delighted to see Analytics Engines feature as one Tech Nation’s most innovative AI companies to watch in 2020. Recognition from an industry authority as well regarded as Tech Nation is testament to the incredible work our team continue to deliver. We are incredibly proud of the Artificial Intelligence solutions that we’ve created to date and we look forward to continuing to deliver transformative solutions and results for our clients. We’re only beginning to see the impacts and opportunities that deep learning and software 2.0 present, and we’re excited to be at that cutting edge of that sector.”
In June, as part of the Tech Nation (Virtual) Report Tour, Analytics Engines Managing Director, Aislinn Rice took part in a panel discussion alongside Uleska Founder Gary Robinson, See.Sense Co-founder Irene McAleese, and Neurovalens CEO Jason McKeown to capture insights from local tech leaders and share lessons around how founders can continue to scale and thrive in the current environment.
Solutions in action
Our large-scale document interrogation solution, Cobalt Grant Manager, has helped the Applications and Assessment team at Innovate UK respond to what they described as one of the “biggest competition challenges they have ever faced”. The solution uses Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing to automate the process of grant application checking and assessor matching. A white paper, outlining the impact of the solution in more detail can be downloaded here.
Earlier this year, Analytics Engines were also selected as an industry partner to DELL Technologies. As a demonstration of the team’s wide-ranging data expertise, DATO, a computer vision solution that utilises artificial intelligence to identify potholes in real-time, was installed within the ‘Connected Transportation’ section of the DELL Technologies Customer Solution Centre Innovation Lab in Limerick.
