What do a Nuclear Scientist and a Machine Learning Engineer have in common?

Last week, Analytics Engines released the first episode of their new podcast series ‘Insights | Perspectives from the world of data’.

‘Insights’ is a regular podcast series featuring engaging interviews with thought leaders and leading problem solvers from the world of data and analytics. Over the next few weeks, the podcast will profile some of the high-quality speakers addressing this year’s Big Data Belfast conference.

In Episode 1, we spoke with Paul Brook, director of data analytics and AI presales EMEA at DELL Technologies. This week, the team sat down Clair Sullivan from GitHub.

Clair offers insight into her current role at GitHub and talks about her career trajectory, having first entered the working world as a nuclear engineer. She describes how she made the jump to machine learning, the overlap between nuclear emergency response and deep learning, coding languages and the power of perseverance.
